Born in New York City on New Year’s Day, 1991, Abeer Jain is the Founder and Creative Director of A. Jain. A scion of three generations of premier gemstone manufacturers, Abeer’s forefathers instilled in him a superior knowledge of gemstone cutting and polishing, a taste for elegance, an eye for timeless design, and an appreciation for Earth’s natural beauty.
Learning the Trade.
Developing a deep understanding of gemstones–the infinite spectrum of their colors, the inflections imbued by each different cut and facet, the unique personality of every stone–is a project that takes a lifetime.
Abeer grew up with a strong foundation in the Fine Luxury Jewelry industry and developed a well-honed understanding of gemstones and diamonds. After receiving his business degree, he pursued his formal gemological training at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He subsequently immersed himself in the trade and craft of jewelry manufacturing. Moving to Boston, Mass., he underwent an arduous apprenticeship as a bench jeweler and learned to create high-quality, handcrafted jewelry pieces over several years.
As an apprentice, Abeer trained in the time-honored craft of creating jewelry from the first sketch to the final product–an intricate and detail-oriented process. From the art of the “lost wax” process to hand-sculpting complex models and molds, from casting in silver, gold, and platinum to soldering, stone setting, and hand polishing, Abeer studied and absorbed each vital step. Finally, he had an accurate understanding of the meaning of fine jewelry.
Nearing the end of his apprenticeship, Abeer reflected on his past and what had caused him to fall in love with fine, luxury jewelry. He thought about where he had come from and about the opportunities that working with gemstones and jewelry had given him.
Reminiscing about his familial experiences–sourcing, cutting, polishing, and ultimately supplying tens of millions of fine, natural gemstones to many of the world’s largest Fine Jewelry brands and Luxury Jewelry houses over the span of 40 years–Abeer made a resolution. Determined to create something different, something uniquely his own, and also something to pay tribute to the hard work of his forebears, to simultaneously honor and expand upon his family’s legacy.
He wanted to create something greater, something everlasting, to embody everything that gemstones meant to him: Heritage, tradition, family, loyalty, love, individual expression, value, and timeless beauty.
He wanted to create jewelry that would showcase the splendor of the earth, gemstone pieces that would stand out from the mainstream facets and cuts of cushions, rounds, and ovals that abound in jewelry stores and existing brand catalogues.
Abeer thought deeply, seeking to embrace his individuality and create his own path in luxury jewelry. He remembered an image he had seen during his gemological training, a photo that would beget an entirely unique cut and inspire the brand that would become A. Jain.
“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
2013: A Trademark Year.
An image of a diamond cut into the shape of a duck. This, from one of Abeer’s course books at the Gemological Institute of America, would ultimately inspire the iconic flame motif of the A. Jain brand, through designs incorporating their iconic curves or gemstones cut into the eternal shape.
With this new cut at the front of his mind, Abeer was poised to pioneer a new style of exemplary Gemstone and Diamond jewelry–collections inspired by his own signature gemstone cuts, and showcasing the gemstones’ natural beauty.
What had started as an idea during his apprenticeship was now poised to become a distinctive, innovating brand.
A. Jain: The Brand.
Eros, the Greek god of love, and Eterno, meaning everlasting in Italian, Eros Eterno is a product of deep reflection, hard work, and a long tradition of jewelry making.
Abeer’s iconic motif of unfading flames embodies the themes of continuity and enduring brilliance–the shape itself symbolizes the eternal promise of love and natural beauty.
The clarity and radiance of the cut stones is a proximate reminder of those moments in life that take our breath away. And the endless spectrum of natural colors is an emblem of each individual wearer’s distinctiveness and unique personality. Like people, gemstones and diamonds are all remarkable and unprecedented, ready to be admired and adorned for their individuality, potency, and personality. Each A. Jain piece is an homage to the style makers of yesterday, tomorrow, and today.
Maintaining the Roots: American Quality, Global Appeal.
The A. Jain product line contains a piece for every style and every wearer. Each item is uniquely crafted to embellish the style and personality of its owner. From Sterling Silver and 18K Gold to pieces containing our superior quality gemstones and diamonds, everyone can find an A. Jain item that speaks to them or reflects the qualities they cherish in their loved ones.
For Abeer, gemstones and diamonds allude to something classic and enduring-the very symbol of human emotion and expression; the ornate and intertwining “marquis” motif metal design inspired by classic European art and architecture–to show the promise of love everlasting.
Abeer, like his family before him, is committed to creating superior quality jewelry using the finest materials–pieces that, like true love itself, are meant to last a lifetime. Each A. Jain piece is handcrafted by talented artisans in the United States with ethically sourced, conflict-free natural gemstones and diamonds from around the world.
The Highest Standard.
We ensure all products made and sold by A. Jain are fully manufactured in the United States and are not only of the highest, certified quality, but that each element of the piece is sourced in an ethically responsible way.
Each of our colored stones has been hand sourced and manufactured by the Jain family’s gemstone manufacturing company, a business responsible for manufacturing and supplying tens of millions of fine quality, semi-precious stones to the jewelry industry for over 40 years. Abeer’s family enterprise has and continues to serve as the primary gemstone manufacturer and vendor to many of the largest luxury jewelry brands and fine jewelry houses today.
In line with our standards for fine gemstones, each of the diamonds used in our pieces have been hand selected to be of the Flawless to VS clarity grades; selected to be of the (D, E, F) colorless grade, using only the highest and strictest standards set by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and only sourced from United States-based vendors.
All metals used in A. Jain product lines consist of Rhodium Plated .925 Sterling Silver, 18-Karat Gold, or 999 to 950 Platinum in purity standards.
The diamonds, gemstones, and manufacturing processes used in the A. Jain line have been sourced from companies and vendors based only in America that are part of the The Responsible Jewelers Council, Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, The Jewelers Board of Trade, American Gem Society, American Gem Trade Association, and the Alrosa Alliance with De Beers Sightholder affiliation.
